For the past three years this interest has been pursued through doctoral research - Redesigned Futures - with the working title "Design and the Material Cycle: An Investigation of Secondary Material Use in Design Practice".
This has led to further research topics which may be explored in the near future:
- Boundary-spanners and bilingualists of the material and design worlds
- Engaging designers in the broader issues of sustainability in relation to their practice
- The development of a self-sustaining material information resource
